Good books! (And I don't even like to read that much)

Just remembered to post this... When I was flying into the Florida rain I bought a book called the Lost Boy. It was written by a man who is the nephew of Warren Jeffs (He is the guy who was arrested and the leader of the polygamy cult). It was an awesome book and I would recommend it to anyone. I also bought the Randy Paush (sp?) book The Last Lecture. I saw it on you tube but the book is even better. It is extremely inspirational. I will probably read it over and over again. Happy reading!!!!

True Colors

So I guess since it is now 5:30 and I have been awake since 2:30 I should go ahead and catch up on blogging. I started LRCE on Monday after a wonderful weekend with my family. It is always nice when everyone is home together. The kids played in the pool and we ate bar-b-que. It was AWESOME. Good times. We also played a new game Jo recomended, Imagine If. It was pretty fun I must say.

I started LRCE on Tuesday. It went ok. We talked about True Colors. The whole concept (which could have been covered in an hour and took ALL day) was that all people can be catagorized by personality into four groups. Gold people, like myself, like lists, planners, doing "the right thing" all the time, clean, likes order, etc... Blue was my secondary category. Blue people love everyone and focus on making everyone happy. They are very giving and generous and can't say no to anyone. They dont like confrontation and they are usually peace makers. Green people are those who are really smart. They think that they know everything and that other people are stupid. They would rather read a book than have a conversation. They are very confident and they work hard. Orango was the last one. These are you basic partiers. They are social butterflies, usually late, not neat, unorganized, spontaneous, funny, etc. Everyone knows people in their life who fit into these categories. It was funny to think about my family and what they fit into.

Today I went to the Ascension parish job fair. I completed five interviews with some good schools. It went as well as expected. I of course did not get a job offer or anything but I was certainly not expecting one today. It was hands down better than the last one I went to. After, I had to go back to school and learn nothing because the lady teaching us was sooo boring!

Anyways, I guess thats all I have for now. I need to make an apt with the doctor today. It is Kali's last day of school and we are supposed to go to Olive Garden. I hope I can make it.

ASPCA

I am watching the Animal Cops Houston show...on Saturday afternoon...in my pajamas... I know I am a loser. Anyways, it has made me cry like four times. I think I need to go adopt a dog. This show makes me sick. This particular episode is from when hurricane Ike went through Texas. All of the animals they are picking up are from houses they are breaking into where there stupid ass owners LEFT them! How can you leave your baby home when you are evacuating for a hurricane. People are so stupid I swear! The ASPCA does some pretty amazing things. Anyways, I have decided that Duncan needs a friend and when we get a house I am going to adopt one. I can't wait. I just need to let Nick know.
www.aspca.org They have places where you can donate money and also a gift shop.

LRCE meeting

Today I went to the acceptance meeting at LRCE in Baton Rouge.  I hope it wasnt a waste of time!  I get my score back on the 26th which is the same day as the program starts.  I am really sweating over it.  Anyways, the meeting went well.  They seem very organized and excited to start the program.  I am actually really excited to start.  The lady also said since 2003 all 700 people they have trained have had at least one job offer.  This was great until they said that there are over 300 people in the program this year.  Apparently it is bigger than ever. figures.  I am going to try to not be negative and keeps my fingers crossed that things will work out.

sara was really fun today.  I took her swimming and she is really good!  Kali got a splinter and mom lied to her saying that she would not hurt her getting it out.  I didn't mess with it for that very reason but we all knw my mother.  Kali was a blubbering mess for about the fifteen minutes it took to get it.  Poor baby.

Everyone please say a prayer for me that I passed the test.  It is practically consuming my life right now!  Thanks.

My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny.
