There are still good people out there. :)

Ok, so much has happened in the last month.  The move home from Florida was awful.  The movers were a complete joke.  They screwed us and never showed up.  So never again will I ever make that mistake.  Thank goodness my mom came.  We ended up renting a UHaul and driving.  We stayed at a hotel half way and it ended up fine.  We have all learned our lesson.  Never again.  So we moved into the trailer....it is interesting to say the least.  I think being around Kali and Sara is worth it.  They are the coolest kids ever!

Nick is doing well on his internship.  They even offered him a job already.  I on the other hand had been studying a ton for my PRAXIS tests.  I passes two so far and have not received the results from the other three yet.  If I do not pass I have one chance to retake them.  If I pass I start my teacher program in May.  I am excited.  Lately I have been bored because I have no cable at the trailer and Nick is gone.  He came home this weekend and we had a good time.  We went and saw "I love you man" and it was good.  We also ate at Zea's in BR.  It is weird being home.  Today was the first day I was really sad to be home and not in Florida.  I did not think I would miss it so much.  Today the weather was beautiful and I was desperate for the beach.  I also miss my work buddies a lot.  I am excited to visit when Nick moves back.

Today I gained great respect for humanity.  :)  I put my purse on top of my car and drove off.  A lady called Nick from my cell phone and said she found it on the side of the road.  I called the lady and she said she was bringing it to Chucks.  Everything was in it.  Nothing was taken.  I was in awe to see that some people are still so good and honest.  It is really good to see.  I wish I could have thanked the lady more.  Mom and dad tried to talk the people into coming in the bar and getting free food.  They ate at the Golden Coral.  My purse is a little scratched but my phone, camera, credit cards, etc were all in tact.  Thank you lady!!!

I will try to blog more often.  It is hard when I live at a place with no Internet or cable but i am in plaquemine often.  Jordin is about to give me some free make up so I must go.  Until next time...

Rotell, Kali, and LOVE!!! Happy late V-Day.

Back by popular demand... The RETELL story!

Nick and I had just gotten back from our honeymoon. We NEVER cooked because our kitchen was the size of a closet with a washer and dryer in it! I decided one day to make crawfish fettuccine so I take my little recipe (I got from Trisha at my shower) and head to Winn Dixie. I WANDER the isles for about 15 minutes looking for Retell. All the while, wondering what the heck retell was. I can't remember exactly what I was thinking it could be but it had nothing to do with tomatoes! I then spot some older lady who looked like a total housewife and though "I know she knows what this retell is" So I say, "excuse me m'am.... do you know what retell is" and she laughs at me. She then takes me to the isle and picks it out for me. My mother taught me sooo well. At least I now know.

We are almost finished packing!!! Not too much left. I was talking to Kali the other day and she said "Jessie, I am still marking my calender for you to come home." I ask her if she is sick and she says "yes, I have the strep, but don't worry, the sickness will be gone when you get here!" We then talked for a little while longer and I ask how Duncan is doing. She tells me that he is not doing well and tells me how the other day before school granny had to chase him down the street and then he ran in the house. She said "Jessie, I think you need to have a talk with him when you get home." That baby is too funny. Gosh I love her!!!

Speaking of love, I had an awesome valentines day. Me, Nick and a bunch of work friends went to the Winery. It was a blast. I got pretty tipsy, danced to love songs :), and enjoyed the company. We got home and I was pretty tipsy. Nick knew I was drunk because I offered I asked him if he wanted to go to the hot tub. I have been scared of hot tubs for a long period of time. I am always affraid I am going to get some kind of vaginal fungi from one... you never know what is floating around in that pitre dish! Anyways... you are not supposed to go in after dark. We walk in and this alarm goes off and a recording comes on "The police have been called. Leave the premises immediately!!!!" I was so scared and paranoid. We only stayed at the pool for about 20 minutes.... the cops never came! HA! Anyways, in honor of v-day I have decided to list some things I love about the people I love:
- I love my family and the wierd but strong bond that we have.
- I love how Kali can brighten my day even by leaving me a message on my cell phone.
- I love Kali's kind heart.
- I love that she gets her kind heart from Jamie.
- I love how Sarah says "hello Jennifer" almost every time I talk to her.
- I admire the courage Jamie has.
- I appreciate being able to call Jennifer for advise.
- I love Jordin because she is the funniest person I know.
- I think Jordin is the strongest person ever.
- I love that my parents gave me the freedom to be who I wanted to be.
- I love that my mom will give the shirt off of her back for anyone.
- I think my parents are really good, honest people and I love that they taught me those qualities.
- I love that my dad would do anything for us.
- I appreciate that my parents worked really hard for everything they have.
- I love that I married someone I can sit around and do nothing with and still be happy.
- I love how Nick makes me breakfast almost every Saturday... If we have three eggs left, he will give me two.
- I love that Nick still tells me that I'm beautiful when I am not wearing make up and my hair is up and I'm not.
- I love it when Nick rubs my back to help me sleep.
- I love seeing Nick with his nieces and nephews.
- I love slow dancing with Nick.
- I love that he has never forgetten to get me a card for every birthday, anniversary and Valentine's day.
- I love that after seven years of cards, he still has the sweetest words to say.
- I love that he's a hottie!
- It makes me happy that all of my friends love him.
- I love his imperfections.
- I am a lucky girl!!!

San Sabastian Winery tour and tasting.... check!

I had fun at the Winery last weekend. We did the little tour, did some wine tasting, bought a case.... I was excited to finally check it off of the to do list I have had since I moved here. Took long enough. This weekend we are going back to the rooftop bar to hang out with some work peeps. It should be fun. I also got to eat at my fav little hole in the wall place, Flavors . I will surely miss that food! I also finally got to go shopping for the first time in a month. I was disappointed because I found a BCBG dress I HAD to have but the zipper was broken. The chick called every store in FL and no one had one in my size. It made me very sad, I have been pouting about it for days...ask Nick!

Anyways, Work SUCKS! I dont know if it is because I have one foot out the door or if it is anything else. I am so over it though. I wish I could use my vacation time but I can't! Boo! I had a baby detained today and it pissed me off. I spent 10 minutes on the phone arguing with the investigator about the meaning of domestic violence. PI's are so arrogant!!!

We are steadily packing away. I am glad jo did not come visit for her birthday. The house is kindof a mess! We also had to take the guest bed apart to store boxes. I wish I was home for her birthday though! :( It makes me sad I am missing hr 21st. I wish I could take off of work!!!! I am also sad that I haven't seen Eli yet, life's not fair!

I impressed myself last night with my baking skillz! I got this "100 year old" recipe from a supervisor at work called the Watergate Cake. It i really a pistachio flavored cake with homemade frosting. It is SOOOO good! And it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. If anyone wants the recipe let me know. I think I may bake it again when I am home. I told Nick I can finally bake a cake comparable to his mothers!! ;) LOL Tonight Nick and I tried to make fish... not so good... I will stick to baking.
Hope everyone has a nice week.

Eli Lee Watson...whoop whoop!

So, Eli has arrived! Although he did not want to, he joined the world on Jan 26th. Yay!!! And he is a cutie pie! I am so excited. We are three for three in the looks department for the Crosbie babies! Nice.

I have started packing and it is not good. I forgot how much this packing stuff sucks!!! We still have a LONG way to go and I am getting sad thinking about leaving.

Facebook thing... 25 things about me.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)

1. I believe that everything in life, good or bad, happens for a reason.

2. Some days, I really want to be pregnant. I know I will be a good mom. I think Nick will be an amazing father. Other days I can't imagine having a baby in the near future. I wonder if I can ever love anyone as much as I love my nieces.

3. I have three sisters and one half sister. I used to think we were all totally different. The older we get, the more similarities I see. I love them all for different reasons. I know that when it comes down to it, we will always be close.

4. I married my high school sweetheart on November 3, 2006. We met when I was sixteen and he was eighteen at my parents house. He's my soul mate. We really have grown up together and it has only made us closer.

5. I love my dog Duncan like a child, really. Sometimes I think I may be overdoing it but he is so stinking cute!

6. I avoid confrontation. I have never been in a real fight! I am passive aggressive.

7. Every time I pass a hitchhiker on the road something in me says to stop and give them a ride...EVERY time. But then I think that they might be a serial killer and never stop.

8. I love that I grew up in one house. My parents built my their house the year I was born. I really can't imagine anyone else EVER living there.

9. I have never smoked a cigarette nor have I had the desire to. I have never done any illegal drugs. Sometimes I think I should just to say I have.

10. I work with people in poverty every single day. Sometimes it is really hard to see the conditions people live in and I feel guilty for what I have. Sometimes I get annoyed because people would rather live off of the government then go out and work to feed their kids. But every time I really think about it, I would rather bust ass to live comfortably then take advantage of the "system" and live the way they do.

11. My mom owns a bar and I have always felt like it is more of a burden then a good thing for my family.

12. I miss being in college but I don't feel like I had the total college experience. Sometimes I think I missed out. I wish I would have studied abroad.

13. I can't wait until Nick and I buy our own house. We always remind each other that good things come to those who wait.

14. I worry about my parents all the time.... I worry about their health, retirement, happiness, jobs, house, the way they spend their money, you name it and I have probably thought about it. I don't understand why I do this. I think I am annoying. But, I want to be the one to take care of them when they get old.

15. I have had my heart completely broken by a boy. I think that everyone should go through it at some point, it is an important life experience.

16. I hate hate hate cats! Sometimes I pretend like I don;'t mind them so I won't offend anyone. :)

17. Nick will graduate on August 14th. I can't wait to call him "Dr. Cicero". He has totally earned it. Sometimes I feel that I have earned it too!

18. Moving to Florida was one of the scariest things I have ever done. I am thankful now for the experience and growth. I am also grateful for the people I have met here and will really miss them.

19. I like to have a cup of coffee every day before work. I feel like I am more productive that way.

20. I know this is grandma-ish but I like to make cards. It helps me manage stress. I love when Nick tells me how nice they are.

21. I love watching live bands... especially when it is my dad or my sister's boyfriend Jude playing.

22. I want to adopt a baby from an abusive home one day. I get annoyed when I see babies adopted from overseas knowing how many we have here waiting for homes.

23. I am infamous for backing into things with my car... walls, trees, parked cars, telephone poles, etc...

24. I hope that I really make a difference.

25. I am really blessed to have such a great life.

No baby yet!

I talked to Jenn... false alarm! I thought she was going to have the baby today but that did not happen. My mom drove up in the middle of the night because she loves Jenn the most out of all of us! Maybe Jenn will have the baby over the weekend so that everyone can go. That would be nice although I dont think she would like that too much!

I am sad that I am not only missing the birth of my first real blood nephew but also....... Nicks friend is getting married this weekend and we are missing it. Like this is new! I think we have missed about 6 wedding since we have been here. The worst part is that I LOVE weddings! Tear.

On a happier note... I got my hair did today! It is darker and she trimmed it. I am excited as I have been anticipating getting my hair done for some time. No more pony tails pour moi! I am glad tomorrow is Friday.... if one more client calls and asks me to get them their JEA bill paid I will curse someone out and lose my job and my vacation pay that I have waiting for me when I quit. I wish someone could tell me why people think the world owes them something. It pisses me off!!!!!!

On a happier note, I hope everyone says a little prayer for Jenn's cervix (sp?). Gross I know.
