Jack Johnson soothes me!

I had a good weekend! Friday night I went to a farewell party for my co-worker. We barbecued and hung out and then they decided they wanted to go salsa dancing. My lovely friend, Morgan let me wear all of her clothes so that I would go. Otherwise I would have been in my wok clothes. They had some hoochie mommas. I was initially very nervous... This placed looked sketchy. On one side it was really ghetto. The other side was salsa dancing. We all got hit on all night! Those men all thought they were Rico suave. They would walk up and say "let me teach you how to dance momma". I am not your momma! We all stuck out like sore thumbs, maybe that is why they would ask to teach us to dance instead of just to dance :). I love the girls from work. It is always a guaranteed good time with them. I drove home at like 2-3ish in the morning and had to get up to go get my hair done. I went to my gas station hair place. The first time I drove up I almost left but my friend said they were great and not to be scared. I'm glad I listened. I died it dark brown again. There are these three old ladies that work there and I don't know where they are from but I can't hardly understand half of what they say. I just smile and nod. I need it cut but I have decided to grow it out. It was hard not to chop it off! Saturday I went to the beach and when I got home that night I decided to call my friend Paula to hang out. We were such men it was hilarious! We went to Panama Hattie's (bar on the beach). We drank beer and ate wing and boy were they good. And it gets better.... we went to her house and played wii. We played bowling, tennis and baseball. I lost every single game! We are such losers but it was a blast. We both decided that it is fun to act like guys. We almost always talk about wedding stuff (she is close to being engaged), go shopping, or get our nails done. It was fun to do something different. She's awesome and I am lucky to have a friend like her around here. Today we both slept until like 11 and went to the beach again. I got an ok tan, the weather has been beautiful this weekend. It really makes me appreciate living here. I saw this big fat burly man with "FUCK OFF" tattooed on his big belly. I could not help but laugh. I wanted to go take a picture of him. It was funny. I am excited I finally got to go shopping today. I have been shaving with conditioner and bathing with shampoo. Talk about roughing it! lol I also got the new Jack Johnson CD. He really is the shit!
I am waiting to hear from Nick to see if we won the St. Jude Dream Home. That would be nice right! At first I was mad that he spend 100 bucks on a ticket but then I remembered that it is for St. Jude so I got over it. Wouldn't it be nice to get the keys to a brand new house for 100 dollars. hell yeah! I'm gonna cross my fingers like we would ever actually have hope. :)
So, now I just finished making tacos... my favorite and I need to get the house cleaned up to Nick's standards. I mean it is clean, but not spotless. Hope everyone had a nice weekend and got to enjoy the weather as much as I did. I can;t wait to go home Tuesday. I am pumped to see everyone and I can't wait to see Duncan!!!

NO, I'm not pregnant!

Ok, so it has been an interesting one. First, I was sleeping in late this morning when I realize, holy crap I have court in an hour!! (The courthouse is 50 minutes from my house). I literally jump out of bed, get ready in ten minutes and drive 90 all the way to work. Then, my gas light comes on. I stopped to get gas and phew. Then, I realize my file as at the office. I ran in the office to grab it and made it to court by 9:10. Then, I sat for TWO hours! Hurry up to wait. I hate court!!!
Then, I was leaving a home visit and walking to my car. Some gross painter guy was screaming at me. I ignored him of course and my client came running outside and they started yelling at each other. It was the craziest thing. I did not even know what to say. Then, at another home visit a client poked me in the stomach and said "oh, are you pregnant?" WTF!!! Everyone knows that you don't just ask someone that!!!! Bitch... no my dress is lose, suck it! lol THEN, I get home and pull my clothes out of the washer and my favorite navy pencil skirt from Express is ruined! I am a genius and pored bleach on it. It was a sad, sad day.
I also found out today that my brother and sister-in-law are having a boy...Jenn finds out soon. I love all these new babies. I'm so excited.
Today was full of stress and drama fo ya moma. I am surprising in a good mood though, maybe it is the Popeye's I ate tonight or the quote from yesterday. Maybe tomorrow will be better! :)
Food for thought:
I cannot believe that the purpose of life is to be happy. I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be compassionate. It is, above all to matter, to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all.

Master's degree, here I come

I have been so motivated lately. I love days where I have a positive attitude towards life. I try to achieve this every day but it is a rarity... and while I was in my positive and motivated mind set today I made a life decision. And it did not come from a song! :) I think I am going back to school if Nick ever finishes to get my master's degree in teaching. I love what I do now, but I have always wanted to teach. I feel like I will always regret it if I don't, like I have some sort of calling towards it. I have been looking into programs here but I don;t think I will be able to do anything until we actually move back.... I think I can make a diffeerence. I always like to find the good in children and I could get used to the summer vacation and hollidays. ;) hmm....
I worked out for the third day in a row... wooo hooo! ......more randomness.....
THIS IS HOW MY BRAIN WORKS PEOPLE!
Ok, this is how stupid my clients think I am.... for the THIRD time this week I was told that a drug screen was diluted because the person drank too much water!!!!! WHAT THE F. Are you kidding me? I want to ask them if they think I am an idiot. You have to take cleansers or poor something in there for your crap to be so watered down it comes up diluted!!! These people are crazy. :) Never a dull moment.
I miss Nick and Duncan doodle! :( I can;t wait to go home on Tuesday and see everyone!!!! Any suggestions on a bday gift for dad? I am tired of Outback giftcards. I need to be more ccreative. I am so excited. Jo, watch out... I'm gonna pop your boob when I see you! lol (some might take this the wrong way lol) I have a feeling I am going to miss my plane, I hope not. I need to clean the house before Nick comes home. He tends to have panic attacks when the house is a mess. Poor baby, one day he will learn to be like me. Any hoot...

My rev run thought for the day:
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company ...a church ...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past ...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ...we are in charge of our attitudes.

I'm on a roll!

Ok, so I had late visits tonight but I was determined to work out. AND I DID!!!! Yay... I know, I am suprised myself. I busted ass on the tread mill (spelling?) for like an hour. I am so proud. Now i'm home and I am scared to go in my closet. I'm not sure what to do. I held a big mirror up to see if the roach landed on my shoe box and it WAS NOT THERE?!?! Where did it go? Nick called our landlady...FINALLY. I am not sure if she is going to pay for it but I think it is considered maintanance. I feel like if I am paying as much as I am to live here, the least she can do is come exterminate my shit!
So, lately I have had baby fever. I know I am random going from roaches to babies. hehe but I have the itch I guess. I hope I get over it soon. When Nick was here he entertained the thought and then we came back to reality. I hate the fact that I think about it so much. I have more than I could ask for and I can;t enjoy living my life right now without whining about Nick finishing school , moving closer to family, getting a house, having a baby.... I am always looking forward to the future and worrying about the things I don;t have RIGHT NOW. I know good things come to those who wait but I always think we have put in our time. When that Trace Adkins song came out it really got me to thinking about my life and how I need to try living in the moment. When will I ever live in Florida again.... never! When will we get to randomly go on a trip with no worries, never. Nick tells me it is natural to make goals and look forward to the future but I would like to work on taking one day at a time and enjoying it. :( One day we will have the 2.5 kids and the house with this. So, until I have a little one of my own, there will always be my little duncan doodle... and the creepy picture from dave and busters... ha, some of you know what I am talking about.
Well, this is the song, and as some of you know I base some life decisions off of songs. Lame I know but I do these things!
Your Gonna Miss This
She was staring out the window of their SUV

Complaning, saying "I can't wait to turn 18"
She said "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said "I was just like you"

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her "It's a nice place"
She says "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and saysAnd s "Baby, just slow down"

Cause you're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
Dog's barkin', phone's ringin'
One kid's cryin', one kid's screamin'
And she keeps apologizin'
He says "They don't bother me.
I've got 2 babies of my own.
One's 36, one's 23.
Huh, it's hard to believe, but...

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Oh My GOSH! I can't handle the insects!!!!

So I was getting ready for work this morning. Everything was fine. I went into my closet to grab a pair of shoes. I look up....and to my horror.... a HUGE ASS roach! Crawling up my wall. What the fuck?!?!?! I ran in the kitchen to grab something to spray it with. I did not have roach spray and I know how those bastard's are. They don't like to die! I found some flea and tick spray. I shot him with it and he fell. Looked like he fell on my top shoe box. But I really don't know. He will just have to live there until Nick comes home. So of course I call Nick and bitch at him to call out landlord lady. He did not want to call. Yeah right, your ass better call. He acts like he does not know me by now. I will avoid confrontation at all costs. I got so mad I hung up. He better call. I can't sleep knowing that a roach of any size may crawl on me. It is bad enough I have to deal with this at my client's houses but when it is in my own... oh, hell no!

I'm turning over a new leaf!

So, I know I have been the worst at blogging! Ever since I started working I have just stopped but this will change! I will give the people what they need! :) ha, like anyone really reads this! Anyways.... today I was motivated by shopping. What else is new? I decided I want to start working out due to the muffin top that is continuously growing over my jeans. Gross! And what will motivate me to actually get my butt off the couch. New work out clothes of course! It just makes me so happy. I bought about three new outfits and spent way too much money. I am sure Nick will have something to say about it. :) We will see if I keep this up after the "new clothes" smell goes away.
Last weekend Nick suprised me by flying home. We stayed at the Hilton hotel in Orlando and went to universal studios. We had a blast. We ate lots of good food, rode bad ass roller coasters and went out on the town. It is funny how being away from someone makes you love them that much more. I am so lucky to have such a thoughtful husband. All I need to see now is my #1, Duncan. I miss that baby so much. He has had quite the eventful summer. He ate my mom's counch. (We will be replacing it) and peed on my dad's bed. (my dad already hates him!) :) poor daddy! Mom said the other day they could not find him because my dad was left to watch him. She said that she walked outside and saw him sitting under dad's umbrella just relaxing. So Duncan, he is a smart baby!
What else has happened this summer.... Jennifer came to visit. It was VERY HOT when I took her downtown ut we got to relax a little and just enjoy some sister time. She is pregnant and I feel that it is a girl. We shall see if my predictions are correct! Kali, Jo, mom and Sara also came the weekend after Nick left. It was a good trip. kali and Sara are more and more beatiful every time I see them. Kali has got game! We were at the beach and she lost her new ring in the ocean. She cried a little and then realized that mom would just buy her another one so she got over it. Then, these two little boys around her age came walking up and told her that they wanted to help her find her ring. They put there little goggles on and searched away. It was the cuttest thing I have ever seen!
Anyways, I have nothing interesting left to say. I guess I need to blog about work sooner or later. There is always something interesting going on with these crazy clients of mine.
To all of my family who may ready this, I miss you and love you. I can;t wait to be home!!!! 9 more days!!!! YESSSS
